KNEE PAIN CAN BE CAUSED BY MANY THINGS.
Knee Pain is generally caused by either a traumatic injury, an imbalance in biomechanics within the leg, or tendinopathy (commonly patella - front of knee).
Common knee trauma can include ligament injuries or meniscus damage and is typified by an acute injury either during sports, a fall, or a buckle.
WHAT ARE IMBALANCES IN BIOMECHANICS IN THE KNEE?
This is when one or more of the muscle groups in the knee are overworking to compensate for other structures underworking. The knee is directly related to hip and foot function, therefore checking the function of the pelvis, thigh, lower leg and foot is important when assessing for the cause of pain. This is so we can ensure each part of the leg is working.
At BMT, we identify and treat the areas that are overworked, painful, and tight in order to eliminate pain and restore function to the leg, which will make your knee feel so much better.
